Kids Class
Our kids classes focus on building confidence, discipline, coordination, and strong fundamentals in a positive and structured environment. We believe kids learn best when they’re having fun, so classes combine real technique and skill-building with games, movement, and supportive coaching.
What to expect
-
Our Kids Class is designed to push students to become better versions of themselves. They will have personal obstacles to overcome, leadership experiences, chances to teach, and opportunities to learn accountability.
The goal is that students grow in all these areas and more as they learn to look at their own development while being a part of a team driven environment. Jiu-Jitsu is a team sport and student will learn what it is like to help teammates, be helped by teammates, and more.
-
Generally speaking this class is for ages 4-15. At times we can accept younger or older students. It depends on their size and experience. If you think your student may be in between a kids and adult class then we can definitely work to set some goals to get your student into the place they should be in a safe and controlled way.
-
In our coaching experience we coached in super strict environments. We also witnessed the opposite where classes felt like they were more dodgeball than Jiu-Jitsu.
Our program is designed to strike a balance between the two. We play games. We also train hard. We want your student to want to be here. By creating thoughtful classes and exercises actually geared towards kids we will see your student learn Jiu-Jitsu skills, sometimes without realizing it.
Respect and discipline will be demonstrated through example. Yelling will never be a strategy used to help students stay on task. Students will be treated with respect and be expected to treat others with that same respect.
Expect your child to work hard, have fun, laugh, get exhausted, feel defeated, be encouraged to come back and do it again.

Our kids program focuses equally on gi and nogi. Gi would mean wearing the uniform and belt whereas nogi would be wearing just some athletic clothes.
Kids can learn so much from both. In self defense it is also important to have a grasp of both. Kids competitions typically have both types in every competition.
We train a week in the gi then a week in nogi. This matches our adult program.
